  • A Different Kind of Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there. I hope you feel love and appreciated not only today, but every day of the year. 🙂 This year, since we’re in isolation, Mother’s Day was a bit different. It was still good, but it was just a little different.

As usual, my dad, sister, and I surprised my mom with roses and some of her favorite chocolates with caramel. My dad also went out and got her some cute cards for us to all sign and a really yummy turtle cake too.

Typically, we go out for lunch or dinner on Mother’s Day, but we couldn’t do that this year, since most if not all restaurants are still closed because of the CDC’s guidelines. I always enjoy going out for dinner because we really get to enjoy quality family time together in a different environment, and my mom doesn’t have to worry about cooking for that meal! Since we didn’t get to do that this year, it was a bit weird, but my mom enjoyed cooking both a really yummy lunch and dinner. We had coconut shrimp (one of her favorites) at lunch and then grilled chicken and mac and cheese for dinner. Both were great meals and my family and I still got to enjoy some time together! 🙂

I spent a lot of today studying for my organic chemistry final that’s coming up on Tuesday. Wow am I SO excited to be finishing up this upcoming week. This semester was long enough already and with the isolation, it has just draaaaaagged on. I’m trying to finish strong, so let’s all hope that Tuesday goes well and that my accounting final goes well on Wednesday too.

I hope you all enjoyed Mother’s Day and got a chance to do something special for your moms this year. They deserve a little extra this year, considering that we’re all crammed in together right now. Hug your mom real tight and tell her you love her tonight! Have a good week and I’ll see you next Sunday.

  • Moms, This One’s For You: Happy Mother’s Day!

Me and my wonderful mom 🙂

It’s Mother’s Day again, woohoo! I just wanted to quickly give a shout out to all the wonderful moms out there. Thank you for being there for us. Thank you for being our best friends, #1 fans, tutors, nurses, and so much more. Moms, you truly are the best!

I’ve been so fortunate to have my mom throughout my life. She’s an amazing, hard-working, beautiful person and I can’t imagine life without her. She is so strong and so determined and so inspiring and I hope that I can be half the person that she is at some point in my life. Mom, thank you for helping make me the person I am today. You’re beautiful, funny, and my best friend. (Also, sorry for posting this picture. I really liked it so I felt the need to post it, haha.) I love you so so so much.

This post is going to have to be short because FINALS WEEK IS UPON US HERE AT CSU! Good luck to all my fellow Rammies out there. One final stretch here and then it’s summer time, well at least for a couple of days. I’m taking summer classes that start next Tuesday…

Make sure to spend some time with your mom today. She should know that you love and appreciate her every day but today is the day to really show that love and appreciation. If you can’t be with your mom today, call her or Skype her or FaceTime her and let her know how much you love her. She deserves to hear it! 🙂

If anyone else out there has finals this week I wish you the best of luck. If you’re already out of school, you’re so lucky. I wish I was in that position. I’ll be there soon though! Anyway… Have a wonderful week!

  • Happy Mother’s Day, Moms

And here we are at another Mother’s Day. Honestly, every day is Mother’s Day but I think a designated day for our moms is pretty great. Here’s some things I’d like to say to all of the moms out there.

Moms, thanks for all you do for us. Thank you for the late nights you stay up on the couch or in your room waiting for us to finish our homework or come home from being with friends. Thank you for worrying about us, even if we don’t like it sometimes. We know you care. We know you love you. We know you do what you do for the best. Thanks for the hugs on rough days and even on good days. Thanks for the good night kisses and tucking us in, even if we are teenagers. Haha, that would be me in particular. Thank you for going on shopping trips and quick grocery store trips and trips to Target when we forget something for a project at school.

Thanks for keeping our dreams alive. Sometimes we get frustrated and upset and worry that what we want to do will never happen. You push us and force us to keep our dreams in sight. With you, we never lose our track. Moms, you’re our rocks. You keep us humble and keep us hopeful. You also keep us in line. You teach us right from wrong and do your best to keep us from doing stupid things. Thank you for the long talks about silly friend drama at school and issues we may have. These talks help make us more comfortable and feel understood. Your stories of similar accounts make us feel human and not alone.

You inspire us, make us happy, and drive us to be perfect, like you all are. Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers. You are amazing, beautiful, and wonderful people that we all revere and appreciate so much. We love you!

    Happy Mother's Day, Moms
