So tonight was absolutely incredible. My family and I really enjoy the music and personality of Phil Collins, and he was in town tonight for his “Still Not Dead Yet” Tour. My dad made the amazing decision to buy tickets about a week ago and I am so happy he did. Phil Collins, you’re an amazing man.
For those of you that don’t know who Phil Collins is, first, shame on you. Second of all, he’s the voice behind the entire Tarzan soundtrack in addition to much of the Brother Bear soundtrack. He was in the band Genesis if that rings a bell for anyone and he’s an incredible drummer too. He’s from England and just has so so so much talent. Some of his other well-known songs include “Susussido”, “In the Air Tonight”, and “You Can’t Hurry Love”. These were all songs that my family and I had the pleasure of listening to tonight.
Phil was such a funny, genuine, and down-to-earth guy. I loved his accent and just love him too. We had seats off to the righthand side of the stage and it was so cool to see Phil and his band up so close. His entire show was a lot of fun and he carried himself in such a classy and just wonderful way. I truly appreciate it when people do that. I don’t understand all of the concerts that people go to where the performers are trashed and carry themselves in such a sad, pathetic way. That kind of stuff just makes me sad. But Phil Collins didn’t make me sad. He was so present and happy to be performing for us. Even though he hasn’t been feeling great lately and recently had back surgery, he was so excited to be in Denver and truly gave us a wonderful concert.
I hope I have a chance to see Phil Collins again at some point. He’s such a wonderful performer and after tonight, I would love to go to more concerts like his. Concerts are a lot of fun and I feel really blessed to have had the chance to spend some good, quality time with my family. Have a good week everyone! See you next Sunday!
